Acoustic Wave Therapy

Acoustic Wave Therapy

How does acoustic wave therapy work?

A device emits a high-energy acoustic wave in a focused pattern applied to the area where you are experiencing pain. The acoustic waves travel through the skin and into the tissue, creating micro trauma. This micro trauma stimulates the body’s natural healing processes, increasing blood flow, reducing inflammatory action, and promoting tissue regeneration. The doctor administers the acoustic wave one to two times per week for three to six weeks.
